Poetry Window: A poem by OJO OLUMIDE EMMANUEL

Dear Crush,
These are not stolen words
Nor reticence of the rivers
Seeping away from my flesh
Gently off my ribs
Into tributaries
I’m a man without love
Like a bird without nest
I am a hungry soul with patched lips
Soiled  deep in clay
Stiffed like a metal
I’ve been starved of heart
Until I become a bottle of whiskey without intoxication to offer
But if only
You could find my hand
Beckoning you- come
Come take your seat
In the strides of my heart.
